Tasting Notes: Grass. Sweet Corn. Umami.
A silken embrace for the early riser.
THE JADE DEW. A MEDITATIVE JOURNEY IN EMERALD.
A specific kind of patience required for Uji Gyokuro — a tea that does not ask for your attention but gently commands it. Grown in the historic Uji Province, these leaves spend their final weeks in the cool embrace of the shade, resulting in a profound, buttery sweetness from the earth.
In the Teahouse, we call this the Reward of the Leaf.
This is not a cup to be finished in a few hurried sips. It is an afternoon’s companion. Each time you return to the pot, Uji Gyokuro reveals a new secret: an oceanic richness in the first pour, a light, floral clarity by the fourth.
The ultimate invitation to slow down, to stay a little longer, and to savour the evolution of the moment.
THE ART OF THE MULTIPLE STEEP
- The First Infusion: 140°F (60°C) | 90 seconds. The most intense, savoury Jade Dew.
- The Subsequent Infusions: Increase temperature slightly (+5 degrees) and decrease time.
- The Recommendation: Best enjoyed in a small glass vessel to appreciate the vibrant green liquor, and small, traditional teacups.
Caffeine | Caféine : Medium | Moyenne
